Steady and balanced. Built to endure.
A tropical holiday in winter
Some coffees strike fast. Some dominate the field. Some shimmer and disappear.
Kinini Anaerobic holds.
This is the first Hearthborn Triceratops of the new Roastersaurus deck, a class defined by cohesion rather than spectacle. Where others win through speed or force, Hearthborn stabilises. It allows flavour to move without falling apart and protects structure while letting complexity breathe.
From Rwanda’s Rulindo District, this anaerobic natural carries tropical lift and grounded sweetness in the same motion. Bright fruit rises, warmth follows, and everything settles into calm balance. It feels like a holiday in winter, colour against cold, energy held within containment.
Kinini Anaerobic does not try to win the moment. It sustains it.

The Art
Illustrated by @kitsukaizen, with original dinosaur design by @killbeef.
The Triceratops dances with one foot lifted, weight shifting forward in rhythm. Across her back she carries sealed GrainPro bags, the exact vessels in which this coffee undergoes anaerobic fermentation. The bags are not background detail. They are the process itself.
Fermentation happens inside them. Whole cherries sealed within containment, movement unfolding inside structure. The artwork captures this balance of energy and control. Motion without chaos.
Her scarf carries stylised patterns inspired by Rwandan textiles, referencing the women who work with this coffee from harvest to drying beds. Raised beds stretch across the hills behind her. The rhythm of her step mirrors the rhythm of the process, steady, deliberate, alive.

The Producer: Kinini Coffee Washing Station
Kinini Coffee Washing Station grew from A New Beginning, a charity founded in 2008 to support widows and orphans affected by the 1994 genocide.
In 2012, the project expanded into coffee production as a way to create long-term independence rather than short-term relief. Coffee became the vehicle for sustainability, quality the engine for continuity.
Today, Kinini works with hundreds of smallholder farmers across Rulindo. Ten percent of coffee profits continue to support local education and healthcare initiatives. The model is simple: build value through quality, reinvest that value into community.
Stability through intention. Endurance through structure.

The Farm: Rulindo District
Rwanda is known as the land of a thousand hills. At elevations between 1950 and 2200 metres above sea level, coffee ripens slowly in cool air and bright light. Farmers harvest deep red cherries and deliver them the same day to Kinini Washing Station, where timing and careful sorting preserve quality.
The altitude helps maintain clarity and acidity, while slow ripening allows sweetness to develop fully. Long before fermentation begins, the environment has already shaped the cup.

The Coffee: Anaerobic Natural
This lot reflects several seasons of refinement at Kinini. The goal was not intensity for its own sake, but clarity within fermentation.
Whole cherries are sealed inside GrainPro bags for dry anaerobic fermentation, allowing flavour to develop in a controlled, oxygen-limited environment. Timing is guided by observation rather than rigid schedules. After fermentation, the coffee is dried on raised beds with careful shading during peak heat to preserve sweetness and balance.
The result is a tropical, fruit-led cup that remains composed. Bright notes lift clearly, while sweetness and structure keep everything aligned. It shows what anaerobic processing can become when guided with restraint, expressive without excess, layered without fragmentation.
Cup Character (extended)
Tropical. Disco. Vibe.
Pineapple opens into strawberry and lychee, softening into mango lassi, with vanilla aromatics and a warm golden syrup undertone.
Fruit leads the movement, sweetness holds the rhythm. The experience feels generous and relaxed, layered yet cohesive. Vibrant, yet steady. Complex, yet integrated.

Stat Breakdown
- Agility 8 (Acidity) → Tropical lift that keeps the cup lively without sharpness.
- Power 7 (Body Weight) → Rounded presence that supports fruit without heaviness.
- Bite 6 (Tactile Edge) → Gentle structure rather than aggressive snap.
- Stamina 8 (Aftertaste) → A sustained finish that carries sweetness forward.
- Charm 6 (Sweetness) → Vanilla and golden syrup warmth that soften the fruit.
- Armour 6 (Structure) → Balanced containment, allowing complexity to remain cohesive.
Special Skill: Rhythm Line
Most skills rely on force or speed. Rhythm Line works through balance.
When activated, it strengthens Stamina and Charm for self or ally, then sacrifices Agility on the following turn. Momentum builds, then recalibrates. Energy rises, then steadies.
In the cup, this appears the same way. Tropical fruit surges forward before sweetness and structure settle the experience. Movement happens, then integration follows. The dance in the artwork becomes the rhythm of the brew.
Collect & Discover
Each pack of Kinini Anaerobic includes its Roastersaurus Triceratops card. Its stats, attack type, and skill mirror the cup itself, energy contained within structure, endurance over spectacle.
Every Roastersaurus release appears once in its own moment. Each coffee and each card is tied to its harvest, its story, and its expression in time.
Hearthborn has entered the deck.
